Neunkirchen Synagogue

"a synagogue, built on the ruins of a Renaissance castle, in 1865 (renovated in 1921/22)... on Pogrom Night, and the synagogue was burned down. Cleared in 1939, the synagogue site was sold to the municipality in 1942... In 1945, a combined residential and commercial building was built on the former synagogue site; in 1978, a commemorative plaque was erected there."
